The problem
The clash report runs to pages, so the real clash gets missed until site.
Most hits are noise, so people stop reading them. Then a duct meets a column on site, and you pay for the rework and a crew standing around.
The fix ↓
Find the clashes in the model, not on site.

Great company to work with, incredibly detail oriented and easy to work with. We really appreciated how they focused on solving the problem, not just appeasing customer desires. The work was returned ahead of schedule with capabilities on par and beyond what we were expecting. …

Short answers.
What is clash detection in BIM?
It is running the trade models together to find places where two things take the same space, like a duct through a beam. The team fixes each clash in the model, before it reaches site.
What are the types of clashes in BIM?
There are three main types. Hard clashes are two things in the same space. Soft clashes are things too close, with no room to install or reach a valve. Workflow clashes are timing problems, like two trades needing the same area at once.
What software is used for clash detection?
Navisworks is widely used. Solibri, the interference check in Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud are common too. On many jobs a BIM coordinator runs the tests and the trades work from the report.
Who is responsible for clash detection?
It depends on the contract. Often the GC or a BIM coordinator runs the clash tests, and each trade fixes its own model. What matters most is that every clash has one owner and a due date.
Do we need BIM to coordinate trades?
No. Many jobs are still coordinated on 2D drawings by overlaying sheets. Most of this scorecard works for 2D too: one owner, one log, sign-off before install.
Can AI help with clash detection?
Yes, with the busy work. Our AI Employee sorts the clash reports, keeps the log and chases each owner. Your team makes the calls.
