AI for construction › Handover & Facilities

The problem

Field changes live in the super's head, so the as-builts are wrong at handover.

Two years later the owner cuts into a wall where the drawing says nothing runs. They call you, and nobody remembers where the pipe really went.

The fix ↓

01 Free redline log. Start it here.

Get every field change on the as-builts.

For construction companies with 3 to 50 staff. Log the changes from site. See which ones are not on the as-builts yet, which are too old, and what each trade's as-builts must show.

What your redline log looks like

2not on the as-builts

M-301Duct moved 600 mm east, grid C41 daysToo old
E-201Panel LP-2 moved to room 1089 daysNot drawn

Example lines. Yours uses your own sheets and changes.

Great company to work with, incredibly detail oriented and easy to work with. We really appreciated how they focused on solving the problem, not just appeasing customer desires. The work was returned ahead of schedule with capabilities on par and beyond what we were expecting. …

04 Questions

Short answers.

What are as-built drawings?

Drawings that show the building as it was really built, with every change from the field. The changes are first marked by hand on the site set, often in red, which is why they are called redlines.

What is the difference between as-built drawings and record drawings?

As-builts are the marked-up set the contractor and trades keep during the job. Record drawings are usually the clean set made from them for the owner. Check your contract, because the terms vary.

Who is responsible for as-built drawings?

Usually the contractor, with each trade marking up its own work. Your contract and spec say who draws the final set and when it is due.

How do you keep as-built drawings up to date during a job?

Log each change when it happens, with the sheet, the grid, the date and a photo. At closeout nobody remembers where the pipe really went.

What are common as-built mistakes?

Leaving all the changes until closeout. Covering hidden work before anyone takes a photo. Trades that hand in nothing until they are chased.

Can AI help keep as-built drawings up to date?

Yes, for the tracking. Our AI Employee reads site reports, RFIs and change orders and keeps the redline log for you. Your team still checks each change.
