AI for construction › Safety & Quality

The problem

The drywall is up before anyone checked the insulation.

Then the city inspector asks you to open the wall, and the crew loses days. Nobody wrote down where work had to stop for a check.

Great company to work with, incredibly detail oriented and easy to work with. We really appreciated how they focused on solving the problem, not just appeasing customer desires. The work was returned ahead of schedule with capabilities on par and beyond what we were expecting. …

    04 Questions

    Short answers.

What is an inspection and test plan (ITP) in construction?

It is a list of every check on a job: what is checked, when, by whom, and what passes. People call it an ITP.

What is the difference between a hold point and a witness point?

At a hold point, work stops until the check passes and is signed. For example, rebar checked before a pour. At a witness point, you invite the inspector to watch. If they do not come by the agreed time, work can go on.

Who prepares the ITP on a construction project?

Usually the contractor or the trade doing the work. The engineer or the owner's rep reviews it and marks where they want to hold or witness.

What is the difference between quality control and quality assurance?

Quality control is checking the work itself, like testing concrete. Quality assurance is the system that makes sure those checks happen and are recorded. An ITP is part of both.

How do city building inspections fit into an ITP?

Add them as hold points. Your permit lists the exact stages for your job. Our plan shows the usual permit inspections to start from.

Can AI write an inspection and test plan?

Yes, as a first draft. Our AI Employee builds the plan from your drawings and specs, reminds your super before each hold point, and files the records.
