AI for construction › Design & Review

The problem

Every MEP sheet looks fine alone. Above the ceiling, it does not fit.

The duct, the drain and the tray each fit on their own drawing. Put together, they fight for the same space, and you find out when the ceiling crew cannot close up.

The fix ↓

01 Free checklist. Yours in 1 minute.

Catch the MEP clashes before site does.

For construction companies with 3 to 50 staff. Pick the systems on your job. Get the checks for each one, and see if it all fits above the ceiling. Print it for your next meeting.

Try it: will it fit above the ceiling?

Height or depthSize (mm)
Floor to bottom of the deepest beam (mm)
Finished ceiling height (mm)
Ceiling grid and light fixtures (mm)
Biggest duct, with insulation (mm)
Sprinkler pipe (mm)
Other pipe or conduit crossing (mm)
Hangers and a working gap (mm)

Type your sizes to see the space left.

Type your own sizes. Nothing is sent.

  1. It reads the mechanical, plumbing, electrical and architect's sheets side by side.
  2. It flags where systems fight for the same space, or do not match each other.
  3. Your team decides the fix. It writes the RFIs and tracks the answers.

Around this job, the same AI Employee also:

  • Reads drawings and specs and answers your team's questions.
  • Writes RFIs and chases late answers.
  • Finds new bids that fit your work, every morning.
  • Writes the daily report from site notes and photos.
  • Builds the submittal list from the spec book.

Great company to work with, incredibly detail oriented and easy to work with. We really appreciated how they focused on solving the problem, not just appeasing customer desires. The work was returned ahead of schedule with capabilities on par and beyond what we were expecting. …

04 Questions

Short answers.

What is MEP coordination in construction?

It is making sure mechanical, electrical and plumbing work fit together, and fit the building, before anyone installs.

What is the order of priority for MEP above a ceiling?

Gravity drains usually go first, because they need a steady slope. Large ducts come next, then sprinkler and pressure pipes, then cable tray and conduit, which can bend around the rest. Many teams use this order.

What are the most common MEP clashes?

Ducts hitting beams, drains with no room for their slope, sprinkler lines crossing ducts, and no space left to reach valves and access panels. Most come from too little space above the ceiling.

Who is responsible for MEP coordination?

It depends on the contract. Often the GC or the mechanical contractor leads it, and each trade draws its own work. Check Division 01 of your spec for who runs the meetings and signs off.

How much space do you need above a ceiling for MEP?

It depends on the job. Add up the biggest duct, the drain slope over its run, hangers, insulation and room to work, then compare it with the space under the beam. The ceiling check on this page does the sum for you.

Can AI find MEP conflicts in drawings?

Yes, for the first pass. Our AI Employee reads the MEP and architect's sheets side by side and flags conflicts. Your team decides the fix.
