AI for construction › Safety & Quality

The problem

The trade says it is fixed. Nobody looked, and the client finds it at handover.

Deficiency lists live on paper, in texts and in someone's head. Lines get marked done without a check, the client walks the unit, and the money they hold back waits until the list is closed.

Great company to work with, incredibly detail oriented and easy to work with. We really appreciated how they focused on solving the problem, not just appeasing customer desires. The work was returned ahead of schedule with capabilities on par and beyond what we were expecting. …

    04 Questions

    Short answers.

What is a deficiency list in construction?

A list of work that is not done right or not done yet. In the US it is often called a punch list. Each line says the room, what is wrong, which trade fixes it, and by when.

When is the deficiency list made?

Near the end of the job, on a walk with the owner or consultant. Many teams also keep a running list as each area is finished.

Who is responsible for fixing deficiencies?

The trade that did the work fixes it. The construction company tracks every item and makes sure it gets closed.

Can the owner hold back payment for deficiencies?

Often, yes. Most contracts let the owner hold back money for work that is unfinished or not right until it is fixed. How much depends on your contract and local law.

How do I close out deficiencies faster?

Give each trade only its own lines, with a photo and a due date, and check them every week. Close a line only after someone from your team sees the fix. Fixed is not closed.

Can AI make a deficiency list from site photos?

Yes. Our AI Employee writes the list from your walk photos and voice notes, sends each trade its lines, and chases them. Your team still checks each fix.
